  Abstract
The chemical composition of the tubers of Oxalis tuberosa,
Tropaeolum tuberosum and Ullucus tuberosus was studied. The results show that
the native Andean tubers constitute a mainly rich source of carbohydrates. Also
the content of macro- and microelements was investigated. The tubers provide
a relatively good source of potassium and iron. The tubers grown in the Czech
Republic do not show any considerable differencies in comparison with tubers
  grown under native conditions.
