POSSIBILITIES OF USING GROWTH REGULATORS IN SUGAR CANE AGROTECHNICS.

Abstract
An experiment was established with the sugar cane
(Saccharum hybridum cv CO 290) which was treated with two new growth regulators
- Melatran containing praecursors of phytohormones of oxide type (lactic and
anthranyl acids) and Malan containing malic and 2-aminobenzoic acids. Effect
of these two regulators on growth and development of sugar cane was observed.
A favourable effect on soluble dry matter was found. Bx in Malan was by 8 %
and in Melatran by 5 % higher than in the control. Both two regulators had a
positive effect on tillering of the sugar cane. Plants treated by Malan had
by 15 % more tillers and plants treated by Melatran even by 52 % more.
